Hello loves!

On the 22nd, I attended the launch of the Stella McCartney Stella Sport range at ‘A Beautiful Life Building’ in Bree street. I was accompanied by Lisa, a friend of mine who is Aqeelah’s (Fashion Breed) photographer for the blog. We always see each other at events, but never actually go together, so we decided to convoy this time round.

It was scorching that day, and we had to walk a few blocks before we actually got to the event. We were welcome by freshly squeezed orange juice upon arrival, as well as tons of “welcome!”s. Wow! The venue was held at the perfect place for the brand (I just wish there was aircon!) – graffiti walls, high ceilings and open spaces. We were lucky to arrive just in time for the fashion show that was starting, where the models would soon come out rocking the new Stella Sport range. The MC, Nandi Mngoma, gave a little detail on the range and what she loves about it. Oh, and might I add that she’s like super gorgeous! After a quick fashion show showcasing the new range, we were served with beverages and finger food to nibble on, whilst taking selfies and photos of the range.

My thoughts on the new Stella range:

I am not one for gym wear because when I actually think of the word, it makes me think of tights with an oversized tee that’s just not flattering to any body shape. When I saw the models at the fashion show, I was quite taken back because it does not look like just any plain old tights and tee that I’d see the gym. The range is aimed at a younger audience, which explains the pops of colour and fresh prints (hello!) which can be easily worn to campus or the mall, but straight after be worn to the gym. Girl on the go or what?! I am a huge fan of the printed white-based outfit (see below) because I am a huge white fan.

As Creative Director for adidas StellaSport, Stella McCartney, comments:
“The adidas StellaSport girl is young, current and vibrant, looking to make a statement and stand out – we wanted to bring that to life within the collection and fuse performance with style to create – performance pop.”

The range is a mixture of colour blocking features in tights, sporty tanks and bras which are made up of fast drying climalite™ fabric ensuring comfort and everyday wearability. Yay for no sweaty business! The footwear has pretty much the same vibe going on – open mesh uppers for ultimate ventilation and inbuilt sock liners for a more comfortable fit on your foot.

The range will be available in South Africa from January at selected Adidas retail stores, Sportsmans Warehouse and Totalsports with the retail price ranging from R429 – R1399.

Until next time,
