Goodbye Summer | Part 1
Just before summer leaves us and winter shows us it’s very cold shoulder, I thought it would be pretty cool to have a bit of fun on the beach. These shots were all taken on Glen Beach in Camp’s Bay, with the weather playing along. I swear ‘Mother Nature’ knew that I hoped for no wind or coldness during that evening, and things sort of just worked out. For the actual clothing, I decided I didn’t want to do a typical cliché ‘bikini’ look post (mostly because that ain’t me) so I opted for cute little outfits that could be worn to a beach themed party or even just to the beach.
About the Outfit
I love that this outfit was spontaneously put together. This beige waistcoat is just the cutest thing, and felt it needed to have a time to shine. What better time when paired with this gorgeous skirt? Usually, maxi skirts annoy me because I feel restricted (I tend to walk pretty fast and the ones I have are not very loose in the areas where it should be) so when I found this maxi skirt I was over the moon. It has two long slits on either side, which I find adds an edge to the look. I also love the print, and the actual colours used in this print. It reminds me of some sort of animal from Avatar. My imagination, hey. I like that this skirt could be worn in autumn too – Add a longer top, and a pair of boots and you’re good to go!
The two outfits to follow each have their own post, simply because I don’t like long ‘Look Book’ posts, so keep an eye out for more end of summer looks.
