Say Yes to the Dress

Paula Bee

Recently, I attended a stunning wedding at the Protea Hotel in Plattekloof, Cape Town. It was the first wedding I had attended in about a year (seeing the couples in my life clearly don’t want to get married any time soon) and I felt like looking really ‘girly’ for this upcoming celebration.

About the Outfit

I opted for this stunning dress from Zara as it screamed feminine and had the ‘girly’ factor I was looking for. The minute I saw the dress, fitted it on and saw how I looked in it, I knew that this was the perfect dress for this summer wedding. I am so crazy about the fabric of the dress, as it is made up of paisley textures embroidered into the material. The straps are created with a hot fuchsia chiffon which is a complete contrast to the beautiful textured material, adding that extra pop of cuteness. My absolute favourite feature on this piece is the low back line – not too low, nor too high which is just what I like (My dad would not be too happy if it was any lower!). I decided that my shoes and accessories should be a neutral colour, which is why I chose these chunky platform heels and a matching clutch to add, whilst my accessories had a similar fuchsia in the detail which complimented the chiffon straps perfectly.

I highly recommend that you head to Zara in the V&A Waterfront if you ever have a special occasion coming up like as a wedding, 21st birthday or even a matric dance after party dress. They have amazing cocktail dresses for any occasion!
